Initial Ideas for Film Production

Here are some of the initial ideas I had prior to my film production.

Target Audience

•  The target audience for my production will be situated around mostly males (but also females) aged 16-25 and of any ethnicity. I have decided this based on the primary and secondary research I conducted, which reflected that mainly people of this demographic like to watch thrillers. 

         - Secondary research consisted of extensive internet research of existing thriller films, websites, books etc. including Shutter Island and Black Swan.

         - Primary research involved a target audience questionnaire which asked questions relating to the thriller genre, such as "Do you like thrillers? Why?".

•  There are various sub-genres in the ‘thriller’ genre (which essentially help make the genre more appealing to a larger target audience), thus meaning that audiences could also vary above and below the age range of 16-25. I will take this into consideration when conducting my film, however the age range will still remain between the ages 16-25.

'Alone With Her' Trailer Analysis

Although I'm producing an opening sequence, I felt that this trailer consisted of many of the relevant conventions that I will be including in my opening sequence. Therefore the analysis of this trailer will help me to further understand the thriller genre.
